The Costa Vicentina, from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Burgau, is a protected area, and, as such, its 80 km of coastline is a true paradise of fauna and flora. Home to a large variety of plants and herbs and a wide diversity of animal life. Leaving the bustle of the southern coast of the Algarve behind at Lagos we head northwards through the unspoilt countryside and along the coast to our first stop the beaches of Amado and Carrapateira which offer stunning views of the vast horizon and the unforgiving cliffs. Here you can fill your lungs with the purest air imaginable. We journey on to the ancient town of Aljezur which is marked by the brooding presence of the Moorish castle which sits atop a hill, affording spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, to those who make the journey to the summit.
