Discover the beautiful and historic region of Fatima and explore the most emblematic locations that are part of the origin of the religious phenomenon.
Embark on a journey to the legendary town of Fatima where you will visit the Sanctuary grounds, a place of great symbolism since the figure of Our Lady presented herself to the Three Little Shepherds between 1916 and 1917 to communicate a set of revelations. In Fatima, there is much to see, namely the Chapel of the Apparitions that marks the exact location where the apparition took place.
Today, the Sanctuary has become an impressive place of faith and it is virtually impossible to remain indifferent to the energy that hangs in the air, even for non-believers. There are two basilicas here, the one of Our Lady of the Rosary, constructed of stone and marble in neo-baroque style. The Holy Trinity Basilica is much more recent (2007) construction and is the fourth largest Catholic temple in the world in capacity.
In addition to these sites at opposite points of the Sanctuary you will have time to observe other interesting places, such as the home of the Three Shepherds (Francisco and Jacinta Marto's house and Lucia's house), in the town of Aljustrel. It's here where you will step back in time, as the house has been carefully decorated from the time using antique objects such as family photographs, clothes, kitchen utensils, furniture, among others. Enjoy a unique tour through faith and history of one of the most famous places in Portugal and even have the chance to attend a mass.
