On this tour, the Sardine goes pilgrim, all the way to Fatima, a central city of Portugal, about 130km away from Lisbon, and one of the most important worship sites for Catholics, with about 5 million visitors every year.
After the visit to the Sanctuary of Fatima, where Our Lady made an apparition to the three shepherds in 1917, we swim all the way to Batalha to visit its imposing gothic-styled monastery and UNESCO's world heritage.
The visit to Batalha is optional - we can take you immediately from Fatima to Nazare, for a lunch that can be composed of the freshest fish and seafood. This fishing village was one of the first important points for tourism in Portugal, during the previous century. Nowadays, it is known worldwide for its gigantic waves and surf records.
Looking at Nazare's waves from Sitio (one of the highest points of the village), which is also an ancestral site of religious worship, is an outstanding show, that you cannot miss.
Finally, we arrive in Obidos, a romantic medieval village, famous for its tortuous streets, whitewashed houses, covered by flowers, ceramics and tiles - all this landscape within the walls of a magnificent 13th-century castle.
Guests will be picked up from their hotels in Lisbon, Portugal.
