Join this whale-watching tour one of the last vessels of its kind and discover Madeira's marine fauna! Enjoy a calm and relaxing trip while you observe whales and dolphins in their natural environment. This traditional wooden fishing boat was lovingly restored down to the smallest detail. This old-school masterpiece is currently the only boat of its kind in Madeira and is still equipped with its original sail.This is a respectful whale-watching tour, so be aware that you'll be the guests out there. Your guide will not only show you whales and dolphins in their natural environment but also explain interesting facts about them and their habitat.With the Atlantic Ocean at your feet and a light salty breeze on your face, you'll go out to wherever your spotter guides you.
What to remember
Important info
- The tour runs with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16 participants (+2 crew members)
- You can leave your personal belongings in the local operator shop on-site
- Please bring a windbreaker/warm jacket, water to drink, comfortable clothing, sunglasses, a sunhat, and a towel
- If the tour has to be canceled due to a lack of participants you'll be notified by text message up to 3 hours before the start of the tour
- Should the local operator decide to cancel the private or shared tour due to bad weather conditions (this is a decision of the captain/spotter), this can be done up until the planned start of the tour. A new date will be offered. If this is not possible, the total amount of the tour will be refunded

Meeting Point
Meet your guide at Lobosonda Info Center at the Harbor of Calheta 30 minutes before departure time. Please come in and proceed to check in at the reception desk. You can leave your car in the parking at the end of the marina. It's open 24hrs and is the easiest way to park your car, especially in the summer months.
