Excursion to Shaaken castle and Svetlogorsk, the pearl on Kaliningrad's seaside

This tour is an excursion to Schaaken Castle, a castle of the Teutonic Order, located in the village of Nekrasovo in the Guryevsky district of the Kaliningrad region.It has been founded on the site of a Prussian fortress (Zoke, and later Shokin) around 1270. Today, this castle is one of the few remaining monuments of past times, where you will see the Museum of the Inquisition. The museum is located in the basement of the castle and in it you will find stylized instruments of torture of the 14th century, which today are ready to "tickle the nerves" of brave tourists. There is also an Armory, which is sure to please fans of the middle ages. Here are swords, axes, suits, halberds and shields. The castle History Museum displays the entire history of Schaaken, from Prussians times to those of the settlers.On request you may also visit the tavern, where you may have tea, coffee and mulled wine for an additional fee, join the archery and crossbow shooting range, or take photos dressed in medieval clothes.After the tour of the castle, you will walk through the most beautiful and cozy resort on the coast: Svetlogorsk (German: Rauschen). During this walking tour, you will learn about the legends and the history of this amazing town. In any weather, it will be pleasant to walk along its streets flanked by old buildings. Almost all the houses look like constructions out of a fairy tale: red tiled roofs, various turrets and weathervanes. You will see the works of the famous sculptor Herman Brachert, which adorn the resort (the "Water carrier" and the "Nymph"), the memorial to Thomas Mann, the organ hall "Makarov" and the famous tower of the Spa, which has become a symbol of Svetlogorsk.
