Located on the bank of the Moskva River, Kolomenskoye Estate is the former summer residence of the royal family and nowadays a magnificent example of the beautiful architecture and stunning nature, located on the bank of Moskva River. You'll walk through a century-old oak-trees grove, visit small but interesting museums containing Russian wood-carving and tiles, the beautiful Kazan Church (1649), see the stunning Church of Ascension, the first stone tent-roofed church in Russia built by Tzar Vasily III to celebrate the birth of Ivan the Terrible.You'll see Peter the Great’s wooden cabin, where you can compare your height and hand size to the emperor's thanks to special notches inside the cabin made by Peter the Great himself. Despite his being more than two meters (six-and-a-half feet) tall, the Tsar was known to have had surprisingly small feet and hands.
