Start your tour visiting the National Museum of Saudi Arabia which was founded in 1999 as a significant part of the King Abdulaziz historical center in Riyadh.
An impressive and important museum that recounts the entire history of Saudi Arabia and its royal family it includes eight main halls: Hall of Man and the Universe, the Arab Kingdoms, the Pre-Islamic Era, the Prophet’s Mission, the First Saudi State, the Unification of the Kingdom Hall and the Hall of Hajj, and Two Holy Mosques! It also has interesting examples of Arabian and Islamic art as well as architecture. You'll see numerous antiques, manuscripts, and documents that have immense historical value.
The masterpieces include the Prehistoric Elephant Skeleton, a huge meteor found in the Empty Quarter in the Saudi Arabian desert, Rock Grafitti from the Hejaz region backdate to pre Islamic era, a copy of the Rosetta Stone, and a recreation of the Madaian Salah Rock-cut tombs. You'll also get the chance to see the Murraba palace, a traditional Najid style building, the Dira Souq, a traditional Saudi market, famous for its variety of old copper and brass objects including silver daggers, silver Beduin’s Jewelry and dresses, the Al Masmak an exhibition that gives details on Arabian roots and the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque an active place of worship in Riyadh.
