Unesco World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Crater, once a massive volcano, is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. The crater is the most important draw of the region and hosts up to 25,000 larger animals, including the black-maned lion, the black rhino, 100 species of birds, and the Big 5. This unparalleled concentration of wildlife can be spotted at a very short distance.Day 1: Departure from Arusha and drive across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping on the way for a picnic lunch. You will continue your day until evening when you will reach the Karatu Simba lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2: After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the Ngorongoro crater. After a truly unique wildlife experience you will return to the lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Karatu Simba Lodge.Day 3: After breakfast, leave the park and drive to Arusha airport, where you can continue with your individual holiday program, or take a transfer to the city center hotels.
