The Mikumi National Park near Morogoro, Tanzania, was established in 1964. Covering an area of 3230 km², it is the fifth largest in the country. Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards and crocodiles just to mention a few.Day 1: Departure from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park by 4x4 jeep. After lunch, you will head for an afternoon game drive in the park. The site is home to a large variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, wild dogs, zebras, hyenas, buffalo, wildebeest, eland, hartebeest, crocodiles, lizards and more. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park. Dinner and overnight will be at the Mikumi Safari Lodge.Day 2: After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in the national park. Animals likely to be seen include zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland and antelope. Through the several observation towers, you will be able to have a panoramic view of the park. Dinner and overnight will be at the Mikumi Safari Lodge.Day 3: After breakfast, leave the park and drive back to Dar es Salaam. Once in the city drop off at the airport or at the hotel of your choice.
