Coast Guard Beach offers a distinctive adventure within Ketchikan Borough. This exclusive beach is accessible solely via a trail, which provides a delightful hiking experience leading you through various environments. These include the charming miniature gardens of a flourishing muskeg and the depths of the forest, graced by western red cedar and western hemlock.
As you approach your destination, you'll be captivated by tantalizing glimpses of the Tongass Narrows, drawing you nearer to the ultimate reward: a spacious sandy beach with breathtaking vistas, encompassing Guard, Gravina, and Prince of Wales Islands. Upon arriving at the beach, you'll discover a secluded and picturesque haven, perfect for activities such as sunbathing, beachcombing, and whale-watching, making your journey exceptionally fulfilling.

Ketchikan Rain Gauge Directions: A representative will be at the Ketchikan Rain Gauge, located outside of the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau, on Berth 2 of the cruise ship dock, holding a sign that says "Puddle Jumpers."
ALL Cruise Line Passengers docking at Ward Cove must contact us at least 24 hours in advance to arrange for pickup directly from Ward Cove (which is anticipated to be 10-15 minutes after tour start time) enroute to Beach Excursion.
