What To Expect

Feel yourself slip into the friendly, laid back personality of the Garden Island as you visit North and East, and South and West Kauai. The North and East region covers everything north of Lihue and the Airport. This includes the town areas of Kapa’a, Princeville and Hanalei. You can easily fill a whole day exploring this area, its beaches, and the famous Wailua Falls. Kilauea Lighthouse, the northernmost point of the island, will give you amazing views, and it's refuge for birds and a variety of marine life.
The South and West region includes Waimea Canyon and the Kalalau Lookout. But there are also many great beaches, and artsy communities. This part of the tour will also take you driving under a Tree Tunnel of 500 trees, that are over a 100 years old, and to see Spouting Horn, the island’s most famous blowhole.Did you know that the Russians nearly came to rule Kauai?! The audio-guide will share that story, and many more with a different commentary for the outward and the return journey, to keep you entertained during the whole tour.

The tour is divided in 2 portions because there is no road to drive completely around Kauai Island
It's recommended to consider 5-8 hours for each section
The driving time without stops from Princeville to Waimea Canyon is about 2 hours, so expect to spend a full day out if starting in the north part of the island
For the north and eastern section, the driving distance is about 40 miles one way from Lihue. From Lihue to Waimea Canyon is approximately 65 miles
