Our Mauna Kea Summit Tour is designed to showcase the beauty and wonder of one of the most impressive mountains in the world. Mauna Kea (meaning “white mountain”) is historically and culturally very significant to the Hawaiian people, and because of its contributions to geology and astronomy, to the world as well.

Our tour only meets guests in HILO or at the Onizuka Visitor Center on Mauna Kea. We DO NOT pick up guests from Kona, Waikoloa, or any hotels not located in Hilo.

Not wheelchair accessible. Service animals allowed. Not recommended for travelers with back problems. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. No heart problems or other serious medical conditions. Travelers should have a strong physical fitness level. Age minimum 13 years old. Not recommended to guests that have scuba dived in the last 24 hours.. Not recommended for travelers with respiratory conditions. Not recommended to consume intoxicants during or directly before this tour. Not recommended to consume carbonated beverages during or directly before this tour. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund. This tour/activity will have a maximum of 13 travelers.
