Visit the iconic place where Nelson Mandela was held prisoner for many years, which is Robben Island. It is one of Cape Town's most well-known attractions, that is is visited by thousands of people every year who are eager to learn more about the history of the island and its importance in South African history.Embark on a ferry crossing from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront to the island. Upon arrival, take a short walk to the buses which will transport you to the historical sites on the island. The tour routing includes not only a visit to Nelson Mandela's cell and the Maximum Security Prison but also the graveyard, various quarries, and the house of Robert Sobukwe. At the end of the tour, return by ferry to Cape Town.
