Kö-Bogen I & II: Düsseldorf's new landmarks

+5 photos
Green+urban, the future formula of the city! On the tour you will experience architecture + nature in an imposing symbiosis. Explore the urban landscape between Königsallee and Hofgarten. Important stops are two still young Düsseldorf landmarks: Kö-Bogen I+II.
The banishment of traffic underground made it possible in the first place – Düsseldorf’s New Center. The area at the top of Kö+um den Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz is characterized by the signature of two great architects: The elegantly curved Kö-Bogen I by the New Yorker Daniel Libeskind meets the urban vision of the Düsseldorf artist Christoph Ingenhoven. In 2021, his climate-fit Ingenhoven Valley was completed. 30,000 hornbeams make up Europe's largest green facade.
Vis-à-vis: the triangular market hall with a walk-in lawn roof. Enjoy the view of the Hofgarten and two icons of post-war architecture from here: Playhouse+three-disc house. Further unusual perspectives on old and new city structures can be found in our guide.
