Wittenberg private guided walking tour

Discover the historic city of Wittenberg, the center of one of the most well-known religious revolutions in the world, on a private and guided walking tour. Stroll through the streets and follow the footsteps of Martin Luther and his colleagues. See the old church of Stadtkirche, where Luther preached and was married to Katharina von Bora. Follow your guide to see Luther’s Oak, and find out more about the place where his supporters burned a pile of catholic doctrine documents, and where Luther himself threw in the Papal Bull, which threatened him with ex-communication. The oak tree was planted in 1830, in celebration of this event. Learn more about the religious revolution starting with Luther and how those events changed the foundations of Christendom. Find out more about Martin Luther, his 96 theses, and the protestant reformation. Sometimes called the “Rome of the Protestants”, many Luther memorial sites were added to the UNESCO world heritage list in 1996.
