La Gomera Rainforest Hike

Hiking through the laurel forests of Garajonay, you almost expect to bump into the crew from Jurassic Park. This guided hike takes you to the heights of Pico del Garajonay, and down into the National Park's ancient tropical forests and evergreen groves.The heart of La Gomera is so green, moist and primeval it feels like the beginning of time. You'll discover a world known to few on this botany-rich trek. Garajonay National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with hundreds of species of flora and fauna.Weave your way between mossy rocks, lichen and trees in this tropical mountain forest, passing rare signs of civilisation such as the dinky Lourdes Sanctuary, a wooden footbridge or an old water tunnel. The hike will take around four hours over 10km, with a total ascent of 280m and descent of 700m.
