On certain days, you can listen to the Escolania songs of the Montserrat Boys' Choir, one of the oldest in Europe, which accompanies religious ceremonies and group prayers in the basilica.Located in a building designed by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, the National Museum of Montserrat (MDM) houses one of the most important art collections in the country. Containing works by Caravaggio, El Greco, Rusiñol, Casas, Picasso, Dali, Monet and others, it also has a valuable collection of archaeology from the ancient world with archaeological remains from the Near East (ancient Persia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Holy Land...). Discover also temporary exhibitions in addition to the permanent collection. Enter the newly renovated audiovisual space of Montserrat and learn what Montserrat is and what it means. The exhibition is based on three fundamental areas: the mountain, the abbey and the sanctuary.

Important information
* The Escolania singing is only available on certain dates. Please, check the calendar and select the right ticket option to attend
* The audio guide is available in Catalan, Spanish, English, Russian, French, and German
* Booklet languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, Dutch, Russian and Japanese
* From the Barcelona-Pl. Espanya station there are Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya trains to Montserrat every hour beginning at 8.36am. The Montserrat Rack Railway is a public transport means that climbs over 600 meters, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the mountain surroundings, straight to the sanctuary
* Opening hours of the ticket office at the Plaça Espanya FGC: 8.00am to 2.00pm (Outside these times you may not validate your transport ticket)
* The Audiovisual Space is open from 9.00am to 5.45pm
* The Museum of Montserrat is open from 10.00am to 5.45pm
* The Basilica is open to the public from 7.30am to 8.00pm. Convent mass is at 11.00am (please, don't enter during religious services unless you wish to participate)
* The Tabernacle of Our Lady is open from 8.00am to 10.30am and from 12.00pm to 6.30pm
