Join an exciting RIB whale watching tour from Húsavík and cover a larger area of Skjálfandi Bay in search of the ocean's true giants.After being equipped with warm safety overalls and a life jacket, step aboard a modern RIB speedboat and head out across the beautiful waters of Skjálfandi Bay. With higher speed and flexibility, the RIB allows you to travel further offshore and explore a wider area, increasing your chances of encountering some of the largest animals on Earth. While whale sightings can never be guaranteed in wild nature, this tour is designed to maximise opportunities to observe larger species such as acrobatic humpback whales and majestic blue whales in their natural environment.During the nesting season (April 15th – August 15th approximately), the tour includes a visit to Puffin Island, where thousands of colourful Atlantic puffins – often called the “Clowns of the Ocean” – can be observed. After a short stop by the island, the journey continues into deeper waters as you search for whales with your specialised wildlife guide providing safety instructions and live commentary throughout the tour.

Accessibility:
* This tour is not suitable for passengers with heart or back problems, or pregnant women
Know in advance:
* The minimum age to take part in this tour is 8 years, and the minimum height is 130 cm
* The tour is subject to favourable weather conditions. If this tour is cancelled due to bad weather, you will be given the option of another date or a full refund
* Whale watching tours take place in wild nature, which is very unpredictable; the chances of seeing whales are very high, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. If no whales (dolphins included) are seen on the tour, you will be offered a voucher for a traditional whale watching tour on oak boats free of charge. No refund will be given
* The puffin season is from April 15th to August 15th approximately; there is more focus on whales outside the puffin season. Should weather or sea conditions change, even with short notice, this may include skipping the visit to Puffin Island
