Private Guided Tour of Bargello Museum in Florence

Among the many artistic pearls that embellish Florence, we find the Bargello Museum: a museum in the heart of the city which, although less famous than other Florentine must-sees, represents a rarity not to be missed, especially for those who love sculpture. The Bargello’s collection offers some of the most important works of Renaissance sculpture: masterpieces by Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Andrea del Verrocchio, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Benvenuto Cellini, drawn largely from the Medici-Granducal collection. The museum’s holdings were enriched with superb examples of bronzes, ceramics, waxes, enamels, medals, ivories, tapestries, seals, and textiles, some from the Medici collections and others from suppressed convents or private collectors. In 1865, on the occasion of the sixth centenary of Dante Alighieri's birth, the Bargello was converted into the current museum.
