Magical mineral town of wells from San Miguel de Allende

Get to know Mineral de Pozos! Place where you can still see the remains of what was a large wealthy town thanks to its mining industry. Currently, its imposing buildings show us the loneliness resulting from a sad decay, abandoned over time. Pozos was founded in 1576 to protect the Chichimecas' silver route. Because it was very difficult to civilize this indigenous group, this work was entrusted to the Jesuits who realized the wealth found in the minerals of this area and taught these people techniques to extract and exploit metals. Pozos has had several periods of wealth, but the day came when the minerals were exhausted and this Ghost Town was left for the admiration of adventurous visitors;
