This exhibition delves into the complex relationships between humans and animals, placing Tanja, Amsterdam's most celebrated hippopotamus, at its heart.

Accessibility: * Free entrance for children up to 12 years old Know in advance: * The museum is open every day (10:00 am - 5:00 pm). The opening time is extended until 10 pm on Thursdays * Temporary holiday opening hours (valid 25.12.2024- 01.01.2025): * 24 December: 9 am - 5 pm * 25 December: 9 am - 5 pm * 26 December: 9 am - 5 pm * 31 December: 9 am - 4 pm * 1 January: 10 am - 5 pm * Tram 14 stops at the ARTIS, close to the main entrance. Tram 7 and 19 stop at Alexanderplein, a ten-minute walk from the main entrance. The nearest metro station is Waterlooplein, it is a ten-minute walk to the ARTIS-Groote Museum
