Journey through 700 years of history and explore over 1700 historical and cultural artifacts at the National Museum of Singapore. With a history dating back to 1887, it is the nation's oldest museum. Beneath its 19th-century colonial exterior, its galleries adopt cutting-edge ways of presenting history and culture that make for an unconventional and progressive museum experience!Your ticket will give you access to the amazing permanent galleries. Visit the Singapore History Gallery to learn about the development of the island as it was known through the years, from Singapura, Crown Colony, Syonan-To, to Singapore. The exhibit Life in Singapore: The Past 100 Years presents snapshots of everyday life in different decades of Singapore's history.Finally, the Goh Seng Choo Gallery features a selection of drawings from the museum's prized William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings that highlight the rich natural history of Southeast Asia.

Important information
Know in advance:
* The escalators connecting the basement, level 1, and level 2 are scheduled to be replaced between February 2025 to July 2025 and will not be available for use during this time. Lifts and stairs are available as alternative access
* Free admission at the National Museum on Sunday, 18 May 2025 – International Museum Day
* The following exhibitions will offer free admission: Reunion Senior Programs, Once Upon a Tide (24 May 2025 – 15 Oct 2026), Children’s Season 2025 (24 May – 29 Jun 2025), and Tails from the Coasts: Nature Stories of Singapore (10 May – 7 Sep 2025)
* Concession admission applies to children (ages 6-12), seniors (ages 60+), local/locally based school students and students from schools overseas (from qualifying institutions only), or persons with disabilities (PWDs). One caregiver accompanying visitors with disability will enjoy free admission, regardless of the caregiver's nationality
* Visitors are encouraged to deposit their backpacks and bulky items at the lockers located on level 2, opposite the seminar rooms and basement. Lockers are available for S$0.50 (small) or S$1.00 (large)
* Permanent galleries and special exhibitions are free of charge for children (ages 0-6) and Singaporean nationals and permanent residents (PRs)
* Valid proof of identity (eg., passport, school pass) must be presented at the Visitor Services counter to enjoy concession admission
* Your ticket is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase
* Audio guides and exhibition captions are available in English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil, accessible by scanning the QR code, and for the best experience, visitors are kindly recommended to bring their own earphones
