In addition to historic, charming, we have a relaxing SPA, an irresistible restaurant, charming spaces for events, a sensory pedestrian path, as well as numerous green corners. With several outdoor spaces, accommodation and numerous amenities, it is the ideal space to make your dream event come true. The freshness of the products we choose, the taste of local ingredients and the simple way we make our delicacies, makes us remember old recipes from our mothers, grandmothers and aunts. The homemade cakes, teas and sweets we make for guests are made with love, time and inspired by nature. Mafra is a town near Lisbon, in the saloia (rustic) area, which used to supply the capital with garden produce, is famous for its imposing Palace-Convent, the largest edifice in Portugal, built by order of King Dom João V in the 18th century. In the surrounding area, it is worth visiting José Franco's ceramics workshop in village of Sobreiro, where you can appreciate the more traditional aspects of life in the local villages, life-sized or in animated miniatures. The traditional fishing village of Ericeira, on the seaside near Mafra, is much sought after as a holiday resort, and by surfers attracted by the excellent opportunities this beach and the ones near it (Ribeira das Ilhas and Lizandro) afford for their sport. Lie down and be comforted by the sounds of the landscape, and when you wake up, open the window, take a deep breath and let the sunlight lead you to explore country life. In the Traditional Wing, you sleep with a comfort that takes you to moments when time moved at a different pace. The Relax Wing tells the story in another way, with themed rooms where the decorative elements transport us to very different times and places.
