It is said that Fra' Lorenzo, friend and confidant of the lovers Romeo and Juliet, was a Franciscan friar and renown herbalist who gathered his medicinal herbs on the green hills of Verona (Torricelle). It is here in fact that the friar climbed up to gather the precious herbs for his medications, and it is here that he used to rest in the shade of the olive trees, in the silence and serenity of the surrounding nature.
