Mandatory Fees and Taxes * An accommodation tax is required in Kyoto from Oct 2018. Guests (both adults and children) are required to pay JPY200 per guest per night if the room rate per night is under JPY20,000, JPY500 per guest per night if the room rate per night is between JPY20,000 and JPY49,999, and JPY1,000 per guest per night if the room rate per night is JPY50,000 or greater.
